About Us

Bracebridge House is limited by guarantee, which means we are 'not for profit' we were born from the need for supported accommodation for women in recovery in Birmingham and at the time of starting there was no other service like it.

After the building was purchased, it was refurbished with the help of people in recovery and we opened our doors in 2008. Thankfully there are now, more services, in Birmingham for women in recovery, which means more choices and options for women.

The team is made up of people who are years into their recovery so they will know exactly how you are feeling if you choose to use our service.

We do have male staff because we believe in the real world, men will be around women who may be vulnerable, we believe all women need positive males around them so they can become used to how they should be treated by men and make identifying inappropriate behaviour a much easier task.

We're pretty informal, and you can drop in without an appoinment, have a coffee and a chat, in a 'safe' environment.

We run monthly activities, which are usually half price for those in recovery, although some activities are free or may cost more than half price.
